With specialized experience working with LGBTQIA2S+ couples, I understand the unique challenges within this community. Grief Counseling

The five stages of grief were never meant to be rigid or prescriptive. They do not organize emotions into neat categories but rather describe a general process that varies for each person. While many recognize these stages in their own grief, they are not linear, not required for everyone, and do not dictate one's emotional state. Acceptance is not a final destination but part of an evolving journey, contrary to common misconceptions.

Current research on grief has identified a sixth stage: Making Meaning. This stage is not about "healing" in the traditional sense but rather a way to understand and process grief. It involves finding purpose and significance in loss, helping us move forward while learning to carry our grief in a meaningful way.
